Friday Favorites

This week was a good one.  Just what I needed, in fact.  Last week’s heat wave was pretty jarring, so the cooler temperatures this week helped things feel normal.  Like things were as they should be, since it is spring, and all.  Being able to wear layers, long sleeves and my favorite pair of jeans just make me feel less crazy.  (San Francisco, oh how I sometimes miss your year-long chill!)

My favorites this week:

My aim in photography is to frame everything just so, and have the exact light I want – all because I have no idea how to properly doctor up photos in Photoshop.  As a complete novice with the program, I do love the little tutorials from Pugley Pixel!  This one about creating a double exposure effect was SO INCREDIBLY EASY to follow.  I was so excited to do it that I threw together some of the photos I took last week of Jack in the sprinkler!  Look out!  Everything shall be double exposure, henceforth.

Thanks to my pal Nicole Dula’s handy pinning, I found Smart Gardener!  Going to work the tiny space that’s available in my yard (with perfect garden sun) to plan out mon petit jardin.  The last time I had a real garden, it met the unfortunate demise of a weed whacker.  Fingers crossed!

Rachel Khoo!  I’m so glad I’ve stumbled onto her!  I received the sweetest email from someone letting me know she reminded them of me.  (Biggest compliment ever!)  Here’s the only video I’ve seen.  It’s killing me that I can’t watch her TV program here in the U.S.!

This is a beautiful read this Friday morning.  Thanks, Steve Martin, your opening line made my jaw drop.

Excited for the mail in the next few days!  Waiting on this, this, and this!

Hope your weekend will be wonderful!

Thanks for the shoutout! I was pretty geeked about Smart Gardener and I’d LOVE to finally grow my own stuff. Eek, I am SO jealous of the goodies coming to your doorstep!
